Retirement in Thailand

Many people choose Thailand as their retirement destination. In terms of visas there are a few different options.

Non-Immigrant O (Retirement Visa) – Our Recommendation

The applicant for this visa must be over the age of 50. This visa can be obtained abroad but also within Thailand through a conversion of a Tourist Visa or an exempt stamp. However, the requirements for obtaining it may vary depending on the embassy or immigration office that you use.

It is a single entry visa that is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. You will have to enter Thailand within these 90 days. It then allows you to stay for up to 90 days. If you would like to stay longer, you can apply for an extension of stay at your local immigration office.
